2010 - Bonsai Workshop with Nobuyuki Kajiwara

The workshops while independent of each other, are progressive in nature and participants build on the expertise gained in earlier workshops. To make the most of the workshops participants are encouraged to bring the same bonsai/s to the workshops; to work on and observe its progress through the year.

The workshops are aimed at the more experienced Bonsai enthusiasts, the extensive hands on nature of the sessions and abundant student support Bonsai beginners will enjoy the sessions too. Sessions are held on Sundays as per the schedule below:

1. Sunday, 10 January 2010 - Wiring conifers and deciduous trees to prepare them for a better growth this year.
2. Sunday, 21 March 2010 - Root pruning (repotting), spring pruning to achieve the best improvement this year.
3. Sunday, 6 June 2010 - Summer pruning to encourage inner growth - various species with emphasis on deciduous trees and junipers.
4. Sunday, 1 August 2010 - Summer pruning to encourage inner growth - with emphasis on pines and other conifers, as well as the deciduous trees.
5. Sunday, 12 September 2010 - Rock planting, a new challenge to a new style.

The workshops run between 10am - 5pm at our home and nursery and is very hands on; with Bonsai Master Nobuyuki Kajiwara leading the sessions and Mark D'Cruz assisting. The workshops fees are £65 per day. Refreshments and a working lunch are provided.
