3212: Bonsai Soils - Growing Mediums

Majority of bonsai trees that don't do well ultimately have their problems stemming from the fact that there is a problem with the growing medium. We will explore the science of soils, what constitutes a good bonsai soil, how to go about enriching the soil in a bonsai pot. We learn how to recognise when your bonsai soils need to be changed, and how we do with minimal stress to the bonsai. During the hands-on session we will work on preparing a few bonsai soils mixes. Further, participants are encouraged to bring a few of their bonsai so as to enable you to work out an optimal soil requirement for them and time permitting we work together to re-potting some of your bonsai.
